No. He toured the US solo already back in 2002 (I think it was? - must look it up in his tour diary book)!

This autumn was the first USA tour with a full band (billed as TV Smith's The Adverts).

Well I did and it was a lot of fun re-reading some of his diaries from the US tours.
Indeed he played there quite often; after his first US tour in July 2002, he returned in March 2003 and October 2003!
